Seniors Transportation Services in Austin, Lakeway, Round Rock and Cedar Park and Surrounding Areas

Senior adults enjoy having convenient and fun ways to get where they are going. Meeting old and new friends, experiencing new places and things and taking care of personal business is easy with Senior Transportation.

Austin Money Savers Tip! Austin seniors can do just about anything they want around town, usually at under $10 with the transportation provided by the Austin Park's and Recreation Department. Call 512-480-3012 to make your reservation!

As part of the Austin Parks and Recreation Department's Senior Support Services, Senior Transportation offers several services for older adults in the greater Austin area.Our goal is to provide a special system of transportation to enhance quality of life and promote independence for persons 60 years of age or older.

Through our Regular Routes, you are provided with reliable service from your door to set meal sites and senior centers and back home again. With our Reserve-A-Ride you choose where and when you want to go and return. The Group Travel services can fulfill the wandering spirit while traveling with friends.

Regular Routes
Our current route system serves multiple areas of Austin . Between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. , this door-to- door service delivers you from your home to the nearest congregate meal sites and senior centers. At your destination, a variety of social and recreational activities may spark your interest, including health screenings, info rmative programs and special events. After enjoying a hearty lunch, riders board the bus to return home.

Austin Price Check! If taking a regular route, it is encouraged that you make a $0.50 donation for each way travel.

Reserve a Ride
Taking care of personal business can be frustrating without a car. With one quick phone call, you can make sure you arrive for those appointments and visits on time.

Austin Price Check! Austin's Reserve a Ride Program asks seniors to make a $1.00 contribution both to and from their destination. What a deal!

Reserve-A-Ride destinations may include:

  • doctors and dentists (non-emergency)
  • lawyers
  • banks
  • pharmacies
  • hair salons
  • a friend in the hospital
  • your volunteer work site
  • social or other activities

Serving the greater Austin area, Reserve-A-Ride requires 24 hours notice. Phone-in reservations are taken on a first-called, first-served basis. If Reserve-A-Ride is not available during the time you request, we will suggest other possible dates and times.

Group Travel N Tours
Do you want to fulfill your wandering spirit? What better way than to travel with friends? Whether touring the Texas Hill Country or cruising to San Antonio for the afternoon, Senior Transportation can be your chauffeur. We serve groups of 8 or more in Austin and 10 or more out of town. Favorite trips include, but are not limited, to:

  • San Antonio Riverwalk
  • museums and historic sites
  • state parks
  • health fairs
  • grocery and discount stores
  • movies, plays and concerts

Join an established traveling group or start your own and do some exploring.

Austin Price Check! Use Group Travel N Tours any time! Most transportation costs about $0.50, but when going out of town can be up to $10.00. Inquire when making the reservation.

How Does It Work?
Services are provided Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Minimal contributions are requested to keep our wheels rolling.
