Towing in Austin, Lakeway, Round Rock and Cedar Park and Surrounding Areas

It is a fact that if you drive a car, one day you may need to have your car towed or worse discover that your car has been towed. With parking being a scarce commodity, towing of vehicles has become commonplace in Austin.

If your car is towed the first thing that you need to do is to retrieve the vehicle, for which you will need a proof of ownership. This could be your vehicle registration of title. Legally speaking proof of insurance is not proof of insurance.

One can produce a copy of the sales contract from the vehicle dealership or perform a title search at a title company for which you will need the license plate and vehicle identification numbers or try getting a certified copy of the title from the Texas Department of Transportation, Motor Vehicle Title and License Division.

Generally speaking towing companies post their phone numbers at the locations from which they tow. Call up the number and find out details about the storage lot’s location and the fee apart from the mode of payment, which is usually cash in most of the cases.
In case of a breakdown, you can always call up private towing companies which you can find aplenty in Austin. Make sure that you are dealing with a licensed towing firm. Any good towing company in Austin would be a member of the Austin Towing Association.

Once you give a call, the towing company would send towing experts to the actual location of the breakdown. When it comes to car towing, it is better to leave the towing experts handle the entire procedure and one should not try to do it on one’s own, since improper towing can result in a lot of damage. Hiring towing experts is important also because they are insured against mishaps.

Towing haulers will come to the location with all the necessary equipments like jacks, shovels, gas, diesel, water, tow bar, trailing wire, harnesses, safety chains and winches to rescue and tow your vehicle. Once you sign on the agreement, your vehicle is ready to be towed to its designated location.

Check for things like the license medallion on the truck. You also have to carefully check all the forms before signing them. For instance, you need to only sign the ‘Authorized to tow’ part and not necessarily the ‘Authorized to repair’ part, since you can always choose your own preferred repair shop.
