Renting a Boat in Austin, Lakeway, Round Rock and Cedar Park and Surrounding Areas
Boat ownership is not for everybody, as the time, maintenance and cost tend to add up rather quickly. Rather than going out and buying a boat you might use once a month, it may be cheaper to just rent one for fun family time.

Boats of all sizes and types can be rented on Lake Travis and other area lakes. Prices range from a few bucks per hour for entry-level canoes and kayaks to thousands of dollars daily for fully appointed motor yachts. Whatever the ticket, it never is more than a small fraction of the purchase price plus obligatory insurance, storage and maintenance costs.

After renting different boats and depending on the use, it can lead to buying a boat, and spending time aboard different boats can reveal personal likes and dislikes that otherwise may go undiscovered. Also, renting an expensive boat six times a year can feel just like owning one.

Similar to car rental insurance, you will also have the need for boat rental insurance. Also, depending on the type of water craft, you may need some certification or training, at a minimum the boat rental store will give quick training classes.
