It’s the day you’ve been waiting your whole life for, and a day to be cherished for the rest of your life. Your closest friends and family will be there supporting you, admiring the affection and commitment you both share for each other. Everything from the beautiful gowns, suits, cake, flowers, and overall interior design of the event has been meticulously planned for months.
So why would you try and skimp on the one thing that will bring you back to that special moment each time you look at it? Believe it or not many people feel that paying a person to take photographs for their special event is ludicrous. Why is this, I think they feel they should not have to pay someone, when Uncle Bob has a camera that works just dandy. Uncle Bob likes to take pictures, why not let him? Let’s reflect on this question as the answers can probably save your “special day” photographs…
Austin Money Savers Tip Many photographers market themselves as "Wedding Photographers" and because of this, charge substantially more. To save some money, choose a photographer that markets many different kinds of photography. Most photographers will have some experience with weddings.
So you decide to let Uncle Bob go ahead and capture your precious moments. Does he understand what it is expected of him and the pictures you require, such as loose and candid versus formal and posed?
With a professional photographer in Austin, you are dealing with an experienced person who knows exactly what is expected of them, from candid and posed, indoor versus outdoor, color versus black and white, or digital versus traditional film. They anticipate portrait locations, pre/post wedding activities, and all other excitement which may be occurring, that you may never have realized, much less Uncle Bob.
Uncle Bob will probably be equipped with a standard 35mm or digital camera. Maybe even one of those automatic point and shoot models, loaded with new batteries, and film he picked up at his grocery store.
A professional wedding photographer in Austin carefully plans all equipment which will be needed and is ready for the worst to occur. They will have different cameras, lenses, flash units, professional films, batteries and accessories, including back-ups. Their ready for romantic close-ups, area shots, how to light the scene correctly, and whatever else the subject entails.
Uncle Bob may have agreed to assist as your photographer for this beautiful event, but does he get to enjoy it as a guest at all? Sure he may be really geared up to take the pictures at first. What happens when people are really starting to have a good time and he wants to join in on the fun! He does not like a relative on the groom’s side, or maybe someone who he has been longing to speak with has attended. Well, obviously there are a multitude of scenarios, but all may lead to distraction, which leads to disaster, as crucial moments may be missed…
Professional Wedding Photographers in Austin realize what their customer’s desire. They contemplate what you want, need, and know how to get it. Pros are ready to gather people for group shots, and make them look exceptional. When it comes down to it the professional you may hire is an expert and they are there to fulfill your desires without spoiling your fun.
After all is said and done, the wedding and reception are over, and it’s all but a wonderful memory… What happens now? What is Uncle Bob doing with your precious moments? Well, he’s probably taking them to his local grocery store, or super retail store to have them developed. Or maybe he will not go that extra mile, but instead gives you the memory flash cards, rolls of film, or disposable cameras.
An Austin wedding photographer would have expedited your order and taken the film to a professional lab. The lab is equipped with a printer that is optimized for the specialized film which was used, so the color and exposures are perfect. After which, you may be shown prints, review sizes/styles and choose which you want to utilize for your albums, friends, and family.
So when it comes to wedding pictures, people will (should) spend a lot of money. You are capturing a very big life event and you only get one take at it. If the photographer sucks, has bad equipment, and messes things up…. You don’t get another chance.
When it comes to price, if you find a photographer for cheap or Uncle Boband you don’t get great pictures. You’re going to be very mad that you did not get the professional photographer who charges more but makes no mistakes. You do not want any mistakes or leave room for any problems to occur. You hope your photographer does the same!!!
