Once you have picked a few places, put your name on the waiting lists of a few places. It usually only costs from $20.00 - $25.00 to get your name on the waiting list and it will give you more options when you need them.
If you are not sure if you will be going back to work or not, get your name on both a full time place and mother’s day out program.
Keep in Mind Many daycares and Mother's Day out programs in Austin give priority goes to siblings already attending the programs.
Most mother day out programs don’t take infants until 10 months to 1 year. And there is usually only 8 spots for those classes. Once your child is two, there are more classes and openings.
Around the Bee Caves, 360, Lost Creek, Westlake, and Lakeway area there are multiple choices.
Regarding full-time day cares, there are Primrose and Children Center of Austin. These schools offer part time programs and full time programs. The cost depends on age, but runs anywhere from $300-$600 Part Time. And $500 to $1000.00 Full Time.
Regrarding mother’s day out programs, there is Westlake Presbetraian Church, Saint John Neumann’s, Butterfly School, Most mother’s day out programs cost from $150 to $250 two days a week. Some have three and four day programs too. The hours are in the morning and vary per location. The are usually from 9am to 1pm.
