Austin Bee Removal

The buzz of an insect in your ear or near can often cause sheer panic and fear of being stung; however, honeybees are falsely blamed for the actions of yellow jacket and fire ants. And the panic and fear alone can produce the prophecy that so many are trying to avoid – the sting. Bee stings in Austin seems to be a common occurrence, due to the large amount of greenery and flowering plants. If you live in a house in Austin or have an Austin business that has extensive landscaping and many flowers, expect bees to flock to your area.

One in a hundred are fatally allergic and must carry an epipen to save their life if they get stung. While most will only suffer pain and minimal swelling for a short time

The one true way to protect yourself is to be knowledgeable.

Did you Know? Most honeybees can be categorized in one of two categories, either an Africanized bee or an Italian bee.

Both species look identical and can only be identified by a genetics test. Not all regions of the United States are Africanized; however, Austin lies with an Africanized county we means Africanized bees can be found in the area. Therefore if an Austinite stumbles upon a buzzing colony at their home or business, it is safest to assume the bees are Africanized and aggressive and to remove yourself from the area. Bothering the hive will provoke the bees and increase the chances of an aggressive response from the hive. If provoked, the Africanized bees will attack in greater number and for a longer distance.

Info Tip The only true way to rid your home or business of bees is to remove the hive. Removal stops that problem dead in its tracks. It also prevents exchanging bees for other pest such as roaches and rats coming to eat the honey.

Removal: Doing it yourself or using a professional? Bee Removal: While RAID seems to be the best option for a bothering buzz, hives are by no means a problem that should be removed by an amateur. The application of a pesticide will anger the colony and provoke an attack. The courageous sprayer could be surrounded by bees within seconds. The complexity of the hives ensures difficulty when spraying. The bees produce their own food supply and can simply retreat into the hive and live off their honey storage while they wait for the poison become less potent and harmful. And with the queen bee laying up to 5,000 eggs per day, one could have quite an colony to kill.

Dangers of using a pest control company vs. a beekeeper? While the hive vacant and dormant after spraying, this rarely remains the case. Most pest control companies use a dust that is only good for one month. And because bees are opportunists and steal from each other. A dead hive is a head start for another colony. The remains of a hive will leave many problems and one of those is the inevitable return of bees to start it all over again. Which is why you will not find many pest control companies guarantee no bee for more than thirty days.

Austin Price Check! More importantly, the price for spraying and removal are comparable, except for some variance with difficult locations such as second story soffets and high altitude hives. It is obvious that removal proves to be better bang for your buck since there are no guarantees with spraying.

Time One can expect the entire removal process to take less than 2 hours. However, home and business owners need to understand that abandoned bees will continue to fly near the old hive location until they starve to death. And there is no risk of these orphaned bees joining other hives, because their queen scent marked them.
