As an ASC Local Expert, there are six different ways of connecting with your potential customers:

- What is it? You are videotaped giving practical everyday information about your service. Then, you provide your knowledge of your service and ASC content writers put the information into advice columns.
- How is it used? These advice columns and their content is the source of our website traffic, along with the Search Engine Optimization services provided by Web Interactive Consulting.
- Why you benefit? People search on terms related to your business and find your advice column. They see you are providing the expertise consumers are looking for and therefore you gain credibility and new customers.

- Advice Columns:
- What is it? You provide your knowledge of your service and ASC content writers put the information into advice columns.
- How is it used? These advice columns and their content is the source of our website traffic, along with the Search Engine Optimization services provided by Web Interactive Consulting.
- Why you benefit? People search on terms related to your business and find your advice column. They read your advice column and you gain credibility and new customers.

- What is it? This is your own web page, dedicated to your company. It consists of a video of you promoting your company, our own ASC interview with your business, links to your article and reviews, along with other promotional information.
- How is it used? This directory will be used as our list of company profiles.

- What is it? ASC provides visitors and registered members a system to rate and review your business
- How is it used? Reviews provide personal referrals from your customers and are an interactive part of ASC.

- What is it? ASC provides a business community where guests and members can exchange opinions, thoughts and ideas in an organized manner.
- How is it used? You can use this forum as a sales channel to communicate with our members and visitors.

- What is it? ASC provides a form where consumers directly ask for a specific service.
- How is it used? By indicating the type of customers you are looking for, we will forward their information.

How do I do the video lesson and the promotional video?
We do both of these for you. ASC will come out to your location so that we can video tape you in action! People want to see your office, shop, or wherever you may work. It will take up to 30 minutes to complete the two video tapes, plus time for editing. Video appointments become filled very quickly due to high demand; make sure to schedule your videotaping appointment as soon as possible.
What is the limit for content I can provide?
ASC will never limit the amount of content you provide. We want our customers to benefit as much as possible from your expertise, both so they can learn from you and so they can hire you! The more information you can give us, the better. Our content writers will put all of your knowledge together in your advice column to present your expertise of the subject matter. We do the work, you get the customers!
How long after I become a Local Expert does my video lesson, advice column, and company profile become available online?
All of your information will be made available online within three days of receiving all materials.
How will I know people are contacting me from Austin Smart Consumer?
There are three ways in which you will know that you are getting customers from Austin Smart Consumer. First, when people come to your advice column page or your company profile page, they can use our cutting edge “click to call button,” which dials both you and the customer instantly. Secondly, on those same pages people are able to email you. Lastly, we receive many service requests each and every day. Service Requests are filled out by people who know exactly what they are looking for, and want us to help them find the right person to do the job…direct leads! For those that apply to you, we will immediately send you the service request, however, require that you contact the person within 12 hours.
Do I need a website to be an Austin Smart Consumer Local Expert?
No, having your own website is not required. As part of your membership with ASC, you will have a detailed Company Profile page which tells people about your business. Many people use this in lieu of their own website. If you already have a website, ASC will be highly beneficial in further promoting your website by driving additional traffic.
Can I check to see how much traffic I am getting?
Yes, as an ASC Local Expert you have your own account in which you can track how many people are going to your company profile, advice column, and video lesson. You will also be able to view your ratings and reviews, as well as how many phone calls you’ve received that month.
When do I get billed?
We bill every 30 days by pay pal.
How much does it cost to become an ASC Local Expert?
There is a $100 set up fee to become an ASC Local Expert and we don’t charge per click or per customer. The monthly rate is $250/month, however we feature non-profit organizations for free. There is a 6 month obligation.
